April is here and the weather is starting to change to spring. I have to admit we had a very mild winter and I hope the summer follows suit. Now onto the news:

Before we dive into Aprils news I just want to quickly recap last month. We held our 9th Anniversary Dinner and it was a big hit. We had a great turn out and everyone had a wonderful time.

I cant wait for next years 10th!!

Sensei Jerimie competed for the first time in many years at the Conn. Nationals and won 2nd place. I am so proud of him. I look forward to seeing him compete in the up coming months in the N.A.S.K.A. circuit.

 Ok on to April’s news.

We have a lot planned for the month of April starting with Demonstration Team tryouts.

Team tryouts will be held on April 11th 4pm at the Dojo. All students who are Orange belt and above who wish to join the demonstration team must pre register with Anita before the 9th. The demonstration team is a special team that performs at

various locations and events to showcase the Dojo. The team will meet once a week on Wednesdays for practice. For more information please see me or Anita.

We are holding a Board breaking pizza night this month on the 28th. We haven't  held one of these in a few years. This is a don't miss event. I will being

showing students how to perform different types of breaks (speed breaks, power breaks and maybe even brick breaks) at this event. Space is very limited so sign up quickly.

We are running a karate camp during April vacation. Ms. Salvas and I are working out the theme for this one and will let you know when we have it finalized. I do know that we are planning a fun filled week with karate and games. See Anita to reserve your spot.

In April we are alsoholding an Enrollment contest at the Dojo. The student who brings in the most new students will win a Kindle fire or $200 Dojo Dollars. See any instructor or flyers for the details.

We will be closed Saturday the 14th  for all classes. Sensei Jerimie is competing at the Ocean State nationals in Providence RI and I will be there giving him support. All students friends and family of the dojo are invited to come down and cheer him on.

Training tip of the Month: Practice your Kempo with spirit and commitment to grow your skills.
