March

March is upon us and it is currently raining outside. This winter has been a pretty mild one for us this year. I’m not complaining but I would have at least liked to use my snow blower this year. On to the news for this month.

We have a schedule change this month that effects our Adult and Black Belt classes. The new Adult schedule is Tuesday and Thursday nights from 8pm to 9:30pm. We are dropping the Monday night class. The Black Belt class will now meet at 7pm on Thursdays and 4pm on Saturdays and they can also attend 1 of the teens class a week.

We are also starting up the Black Dragon Demonstration Team again and we will be holding tryouts on Saturday the 10th from 6:00pm till 7:30pm.  Any student interested in joining please see me for the details. Keep an eye out for the flyer with all the information.

Its that time of year again for the Annual Dojo’s anniversary Dinner. This will be the 9th and I’m really

excited about it. Can you believe it 9 years already where did the time go? If  you have never been to one, it is not something to be missed. This is a free catered event where we turn the dojo into a big function hall and have a party to celebrate our dojo. While this event is free we have to cap the number of people who attend to 100. So sign up early with Anita. The party will be held on Sunday the 18th of March.

Will we will also be holding a Dojo Pizza Movie night this month on Saturday the 17th at 6:30pm. Come on down and enjoy the games pizza and a movie with me. Pick up time is 10pm.

If you haven't seen our facebook page please login and go to Craigs Kempo Karate Academy and like us. We post different news and events on a regular basis.

Training Notes

As we move on into Marches training schedule we will continue to work on kicking in all classes. The best thing every student can work on

during the days you don't come to class is STRETCHING. Working on flexibility will help with the upcoming kicking drills I have planned. It will also help build your balance and speed.

All students should have their Gi tops with them for all classes. You don't have to wear them but they should be in your bag for the classes that you will need to wear them.
