May is here and the weather so far reminds me of April. Its been cool and rainy for the last couple of days. I cant wait for the sunshine to come back.

 Before we dive into May’s news lets talk about April first. We held a Karate Camp during the vacation week and it was a blast. The kids learned how to do fight scenes which we filmed. I posted a link on the dojo’s Facebook page.

We also held a board breaking seminar last month. It was a total hit, we had over 30 students participate, all having a great time. I have also put up a video of that night on Facebook.

 May starts a very busy time of year for the dojo. This month we will be hosting a picture day on  Tuesday the 22nd. Come get your picture taken in your gi and favorite Kempo pose. Please see Anita to reserve your time. The Dojo will be closed that day for all classes.

We also have a Sleepover on Saturday the 26th. Games, pizza, movies, and good times will be had that night. Sign up early to save your spot.


We have A black Belt pre-test on the 6th for the students preparing for the June Black Belt test.

 Tournament season is here and the Dojo’s tournament team will compete in the W.M.A.F spring tournament on Sunday the 20th at the Reggie Lewis Arena in Boston. I invite everyone to come down and cheer them on. They have been working extremely hard preparing for this tournament and I know they will do well.


I want to wish all the mom’s in the dojo community a very Happy Mothers Day.

 We are trying to decided if we should run a karate camp the last week of June. If you are interested in attending this camp talk to Anita A.S.A.P!!!

 I am using our Facebook page more and more now as a way of getting information out. If you haven't already friend the page and add it as a like. I have started to post video’s and news regularly.

 Training tip of the Month:

 With the warm weather here I encourage all students to wear flip flops, croc’s, or something easy to get on and off your feet. It is taking a very long time in between class to get shoes on and off. Wearing easy to get on and off foot wear would help ease the congestion, please no more socks and sneakers.

 Remember that students that are more than 10 minutes late may not join class and have to watch from the bench.
