Monthly NewsletterAprilThis is the 82nd edition and 4th issue this year of the Dojo’s newsletter. Ok March was the wettest month I can remember. We got soaked and the downstairs dojo got flooded out. I am hoping that April will be a much dryer month. On to the news; We held our 7 year Anniversary dinner in March with around 100 people attending. The food was great and the kids loved the games. I want to thank everyone who helped with the setting up and break down. You guys made the dinner a success! We held a test at the beginning of this month and I want to congratulate all the students for passing. You guys looked good. The star of this test was Melia Colt . She was well prepared for her test and worked really hard to earn her blue belt. It is that time of year again for picture day. We will be closed for classes on Tuesday April 13th for picture taking. If you would like to get your child’s picture taken in there Gi please see Anita to schedule a time. The slots are filling up quickly so reserve your time ASAP. We are holding a Karate Camp the week of April Vacation. This camp will be focusing on sparring and weapons training as well as games and fun. If you want more information or to sign up please see Anita. This camp is only open to students of the Dojo and limited family members due to the theme of the camp.
This month we will continue to be working on kicks in every class along with striking while moving. Dragons and tigers will be concentrating on basic point sparring theory and application. Intermediate Classes will be concentrating on Fighting concepts and application of form movements. Advanced, Black Belts, Teens , and Adults will be concentrating on Fighting concepts and weapons fighting. All students need to have all there gear marked with their name including gear bags. We have some confusion with bags last month. With April here we are now in the summer uniform of short sleeve t-shirts. Students can still wear there long sleeve ones until the end of the month. As always students may wear their Gi tops if they choose. We will be repairing and up grading the down stairs over the next week or two. All scheduled privates will be taught, but I ask that you pardon our appearance during the process. Strength and Honor © 2010 Craig's Kempo Karate Academy |
