September

September is here, that means back to school for the kids and new schedules for the parents. It also brings with it Patriots football. I love this time of year!

I didn’t write a news letter the last two months so we have a lot to catch up on.

First and foremost I want to congratulate our dojo’s 3 new Black Belts, Noam H., Daniel A, and Vanna P. They all earned their Shodan in June. You guys did a great job on your test and I’m proud of all of you.

I have to say, I think the dojo had a great summer.

We held the annual cook out at my house this year. We had over 90 people attend. The dunk tank was a blast. Although I thought the idea of the tank was not to get dunked. The kids had a different idea.

We held a few Karate camp's over the summer that rocked. I had a blast teaching techniques that I haven't given out in many years. The campers looked like they where having a great time. I saw a couple of them practicing  10 year headache this week before class.
We held a belt test at the end of August and every student passed. One of our little Dragon’s, Leona G, was able to earn a very rare thing. She was double promoted to orange belt. Congratulations Leona.

We also have a published Author at the dojo.

Alexans mom  Anurupa Cinar had her book Burning for Freedom released over the summer.

We are holding the first of the new school year dojo sleepovers on Saturday the 15th. Its all about games, pizza, and staying up late watching movies. See Anita for the details and to sign up.

We have a few openings in the Black Belt program this fall. This is a great way to get one to one time with the Sensei’s. The
private lessons are geared to each students needs to help them along there journey to black belt and beyond. Talk to either myself or Anita for the details.

The fall Karate Camp schedule is out. The usual day of after Thanksgiving and Christmas vacation week are available. See Anita to sign up.

Don’t forget that the dojo does Karate themed Birthday Parties. These parties are a blast filled with karate games, pizza, and a piñata full of candy.

We have the annual enrollment contest starting September 10th and going until October 13th. The 1st place prize is an iPad II. The student that brings in the most new students that join the dojo will win. See any of the Sensei’s for information on the contest.

We will be holding our annual kick-a-thon October 28th. Anita and I are looking for suggestions on which  organization we should
support this year. Please contact Anita with your suggestions.

With every thing going on this time of year, I want every student to remember that you need to set aside time in your day to practice your Kempo. Lets have a great month.
